The first web-based public consultation on upcoming legislation for the year ahead launched this week.

The feedback form, available at www.commonsleader.gov.uk/draftprogramme will allow the public to advise MPs of their opinion on all drafted legislation.

There are also plans for web chats and YouTube access to videos of prime minister Gordon Brown and deputy labour leader Harriet Harman and other ministers talking about the programme.

The system was launched after significant public interest in the e-petitions web site, which allows the public to petition No 10 on any issue they like.
